5. Mechanical Engineer


  • To plan, organize, and supervise on-going works of technician performing routine to installation, repair and maintenance and remodeling of pumping, control, processing, lift stations, equipment of wastewater treatment facilities and inventories in order to ensure that entire wastewater system is well maintained with minimal mechanical faults


  • Equivalent to bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of increasingly responsible work experience in maintenance of wastewater treatment and pumping facilities, including 1 year in supervisory level
  • A high vocational certificate with seven years of working experiences may be substituted for the above requirement
  • Completion of training in safety program is highly desirable
  • Experience in engineering software and other related program is required

  • Maintain a valid mechanical engineering certificate



  • Be accountable for the performance of staff under supervision
  • Report work performance and other relevant issues to Head of Maintenance Section
  • Manage the planning, budgeting and control of resources within areas of responsibility
  • Be responsible and involved in human resource processes and activities
  • Encourage effective team work and monitor team morale
  • Manage communication within area of responsibility


  • Plan, organize, supervise and maintain maintenance procedures and activities performed according to a standard of maintaining schedules, procedures and methods and orderly manner
  • Participate in planning and reviewing maintenance system design and projects expansion if required
  • Recommend maintenance system alterations to Head of Maintenance Section as required
  • Develop and perform periodic inspections of all phases of the mechanical systems and procedures to ensure balanced and proper maintenance of all systems
  • Estimate time, materials and equipment required for jobs assigned appropriately
  • Inspect and examine equipments’ conditions and use of equipment, materials and tools on job sites and ensure that equipments’ condition is maintained effectively with a corrective use
  • Maintain an effectiveness of inventory system and inventory security system for spare parts and supply inventories
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records and files related to maintenance activities, repairs and assigned duties together with analyzing maintenance data and report to Head of Maintenance Section
  • Be responsible for training staffs under supervision according to the requirements
  • Participate in the Plant's safety program and ensure it is compliance with plant operation safety standards
  • Assist in public information and education programs, including facility tours
  • Perform and direct confined space entry and rescue operation
  • Respond to on-call needs on a 24 hour emergency basis
  • Perform related duties as required
